Spliiit draws up its 2022 balance sheet: Nearly €4M in savings for co-subscribers!
Thousands of people share their subscriptions, reducing their bills for music, video games, films and software. Simple and fun, Spliiit attracted 213,000 new users between 2021 and 2022 (+85%), for a total of 660,000 Spliiiters, who can save up to 300 euros on their subscriptions every year. These figures alone testify to the success of the start-up, which has become a firm fixture in the daily lives of subscribers, not only in France but throughout Europe. Favoring self-financing, Spliiit intends to continue its strong growth in 2023, notably by launching an app and establishing itself as the European leader in co-subscription.
Subscription: a successful model that weakens household budgets
They're becoming an ever-increasing part of our daily lives. The contracts we sign for our phones, streaming platforms, newspapers, transport or delivery services: subscriptions. On average, the French now pay ten subscriptions a month, compared with "just" 3 a month in 2016. These figures testify to a profound shift in the consumption model, from possession to use, but the multiplication of these subscriptions, each costing around ten euros, is ultimately undermining household budgets. And the larger the family, the higher the cost. BearingPoint's Submix study for 2022 estimates the cost of subscriptions to digital cultural offerings alone at almost 37 euros per month, or over 400 euros per year. Subscribers are not always aware of this: according to the same study, they estimate it at just 26 euros per month.
The success of a start-up that gives subscribers back their purchasing power
Fortunately, there is now a solution for paying less for subscriptions: Spliiit. Here again, the figures speak for themselves. In 2022, Spliiiters saved a total of over 3.7 million euros! In other words, users saved up to 300 euros a year, depending on the subscriptions they chose. Part of this amount is directly reinjected, via the platform, into new subscriptions: a total of 1.2 million euros over the past year alone. And what's good for Spliiiters, is also good for Spliiit. In 2022, the platform created 213,000 new co-subscriptions and recorded over 1.5 million transactions (up 152% on 2021), generating sales of 3.7 million euros (up 127% on the previous year). By 2022, Spliiit's sales had risen by 100% to 570,000euros.Ambitious plans and targets for 2023Spliiit now employs around 20 people, is used in 18 euro zone countries and is available in 22 languages. The start-up also offers a wide choice of subscriptions, with 180 services referenced in 10 sectors ranging from music to the press, including unlimited cinema or VOD, video games, education, wellness, software and even the Cloud! But Spliiit has no intention of stopping there. In 2023, the start-up plans to expand into 3 new countries, including the UK, Switzerland and Poland, and to launch an application to enhance its services and facilitate user transactions. With a focus on self-financing, Spliiit aims to win over at least 350,000 new subscribers this year, and further accelerate its growth. The aim is twofold: to break through the million euro sales barrier in 2023, and to become the European leader in co-subscription.
