How do I share my Dropbox subscription on Spliiit

Dropbox is a cloud storage service: you can back up and sync your files (from your computer, phone, etc.), share folders, and restore previous versions… in short, it’s Dropbox’s version of “Drive.”

With Dropbox Family, everyone keeps their own private space, and you can also share a family folder if you need to.

On Spliiit, Dropbox is shared via invitation, and each co-subscriber has their own Dropbox account (including their own login credentials, files, and settings). No need to share a password: the Owner members, and each one accepts the invitation.

Best Practices for Sharing Dropbox in 30 Seconds

✅ Make sure you have Dropbox Family (it’s the only plan that can be shared on Spliiit).
✅ Each co-subscriber uses their own Dropbox account (personal email).
✅ Files remain private: you can’t see other people’s files unless you put them in a shared folder.
✅ Check the status of invitations: until it says “accepted,” the member isn’t active.

On Spliiit, you can offer Dropbox through two different plans:

• Family Monthly — up to 6 users
• Annual Family Plan — up to 6 users

Owner Share a Dropbox folder on Spliiit

Step 1 — Set up your Dropbox subscription

1. Make sure you have an active Dropbox Family subscription.
2. Collect the email addresses of your fellow subscribers (the 5 people you need to invite).

Step 2 — Post the offer on Spliiit

1. On Spliiit, go to "Propose."
2. Choose Dropbox‍
3. Select a plan (Family Monthly or Family Annual)
4. Please indicate the number of available seats (up to 6 in total)
5. Publish as public sharing to receive requests

ℹ️ You can also share privately 🔐 : invite only your friends and family.

Step 3 — Invite your co-subscribers to Dropbox (invitation)

1. Sign in at dropbox.com
2. Click on your avatar
3. Go to Settings
4. Open the Family tab
5. Invite members via email, track the status of invitations, and follow up if necessary

Co-subscriber: Join a Dropbox share

1. On Spliiit, open the marketplace (🔎) and search for Dropbox‍
2. Join an offer and make the payment
3. Send the Owner you want to use for Dropbox
4. Open the invitation you received and accept it
5. If you don't have a Dropbox account, you can create one when you agree to the terms
6. Once accepted: you can use Dropbox with your login credentials and your own storage space

ℹ️ If no offers are available:

• Activate the alert to be notified as soon as a spot becomes available.
• or create your offer as Owner

✅ It works if...

• You're on Dropbox Family
• The Owner invites Owner with the correct email address.
• You accept the invitation

❌ It doesn't work if...

• The plan isn't Family (or if all seats are already taken)
• The invitation is in the spam folder or was never accepted

🛠️ If it's stuck, try...

1. Check your spam folder and secondary tabs
2. Ask the Owner resend the invitation (and double-check the email).
3. Test the Dropbox account creation/login process using the guest email address (to make sure everything works properly)
4. Sign out and sign back in on dropbox.com or in the app
5. If you already have a Dropbox account, make sure you're signed in to the right one (it happens a lot)
